Roy Lee Wheat

Mr. Roy Lee Wheat, age 47, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life, Monday, February 27, 2012. Roy was born on September 29, 1964 in Whitfield County, Georgia, a son of the late Lee Roy and Maude Elizabeth Overby Wheat. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Overby.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Brookshire; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Wheat, Justin and Melanie Wheat, Preston and Pauline Wheat; daughters, Holly and April Wheat all of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Kathy Wheat; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rena and Kenneth Keener, Glenda and Scott Ashley, Dianne and Alan Kimsey all of Chatsworth, GA; eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy Lee Wheat will be held Thursday March 1, 2012 at 12:00 noon from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 12:00 am on Thursday.
